lola & sophie shop is based in New York City. It was founded by fashion designer, Gene Kagan. Gene, Russian-born, completed his business and fashion education in Los Angeles (FIDM) and has been anativeNew Yorker since 1999.
The label was inspired by the market demand for sexy, affordable date-night tops. However, its name came from Lola, a vivacious golden long-haired Chihuahua and Sophie, a quiet, docile, and very affectionate gray and beige Havanese. The product definitely reflects both personalities.
Passionate about sustainability, we are committed to producing the best product in the most ethical ways. We constantly search for and use fabrics and trims from recycled yarns and compostable materials. The factories that we use are verified fair-wage employers and are environmentally friendly producers.
